The Kohr Method Teacher Training Program is a comprehensive, beginner-to-intermediate mat and reformer Pilates certification designed to develop confident, technically skilled instructors. Grounded in the method's core principles — unity, presence, and ease — the program blends evidence-informed Pilates education with practical teaching experience and mentorship.
This is a 10-month, part-time program totaling 180 hours, covering the complete mat and reformer repertoire across four progressive levels. Apprentices learn to integrate mat work principles onto the reformer, modify for diverse bodies and abilities, and teach with clarity, control, and flow. Graduates leave with a comprehensive technical foundation and the confidence to guide students of all levels.
Our program is open to individuals of all backgrounds, regardless of race, national origin, colour, creed, religion, sex, age, disability, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation.

Demonstrate a genuine commitment to the Pilates practice and the Kohr Method's values
Our ideal candidates are curious, coachable, and care deeply about the people they'll eventually teach. Modifications, adaptation, and working with special populations are central to the curriculum — beginning at Level 0 — so apprentices graduate prepared to meet every student where they are.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, national origin, colour, creed, religion, sex, age, disability, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. All qualified applicants are welcome.
To graduate and be eligible for certification, apprentices must complete all required components of the program.
Apprentices must complete a minimum of 30 group classes as part of their personal practice. Private sessions are optional and strongly encouraged.
Observation logs must be completed for each class observed. Observation hours may begin after the third in-person training day.
Practice teaching hours must be completed with friends, family, or clients, and all hours must be logged.
Independent study includes reviewing manuals, assignments, reading, and other personal study work.
All required training hours, coursework, and evaluations must be completed before certification is issued.

Certification will only be issued once all components are satisfactorily completed.
